Dogs are natural Den Animals; it's so easy to provide them with their very own den. Learn how to make your dog love his/her cage, through games and fun. As a bonus you can also teach your dog manners, to wait, settle and come when called. Prevent future bad habits forming, such as jumping up, resource guarding, separation anxiety, dashing through doors, chewing inappropriate items and for puppies; speed up house training time. Educate Children too and prevent dog bites.
Doggie Dens are portable so when you go on holiday or visit relatives, your dog takes his own room with him.
This half day workshop will take you through crate training in a way that your dog can have fun.and is easy to understand.

Sunday 10th July 2011 - Improve your Dog Training Skills by training a Chicken!

Chicken training workshops and courses have been in existence in America for some years and are useful for Dog Trainers,
Animal Trainers, would be Dog Trainers and Dog Enthusiasts. They are a great experience and can help improve mechanical
skills. Good timing is everything when training an animal!
On this One Day 'hands on' course you will put the Science into Practice and learn about:
Desensitisation o Classical Conditioning o Operant Conditioning o Stimulus Control (Cueing) o Discrimination o Shaping o Avoiding frustration o Instinctual Drift o and much more .. in an easy to understand way. A sense of humour Essential !!
Why use a chicken ? Chickens are less tolerant than dogs, if you get it wrong they are more likely to walk off in a huff! Most Chickens are much faster than the average dog. With no previous relationship to your Chicken there will be no 'baggage', history or emotional attachment. "How to" advice from other people/trainers is unlikely to be forthcoming, as very few people in the UK are 'eggspert' Chickens Trainers!
Why mess up your dog whilst you are learning?
This video clip shows a previous student learning to clicker train a young chicken.
If you can train a Chicken, you can train just about any animal !

In this 4 weekly session workshop you can teach your dog to identify a specific scent and conduct searches in the same way as drugs and bomb sniffer dogs. Though we won't be using drugs or bombs!!

Sometimes dogs need a change from obedience training. Scenting gives us the opportunity to join in with what our dogs do best; using their nose!
A Sense of Humour is Essential !
